While on vacation in Key West, I was told that the home owners painted their porches pale blue to keep away wasps, bees, ect. Have you heard of such a thing?

  3. By EcoSMART Kara on Dec 18, 2008

    I hadn’t, but here’s what I found:

I have a real problem with wasps. Having 2 dogs, I have to be extremely careful how I treat it…any recommendations??

  5. By EcoSMART Kara on Jan 25, 2009

Thanks for asking, Andi. I definitely recommend EcoSMART’s Organic Wasp and Hornet Killer, since it is safe for use around pets.

For other helpful recommendations, see How to Get Rid of Paper Wasps.

I have a slight problem with wasps. They are not small ones either and they seem to like to build their nests on the outside of my house. What should I do?? Is the EcoSmart product good for this? Can it be sprayed on the nest??

  7. By marcy on Feb 24, 2009

I have a horrible problem with wasps and painting a ceiling blue does not rid you of wasps. It does however keep mud dobbers [what we call them]from building their mud nests around the ceiling.

  8. By EcoSMART Alyse on Feb 25, 2009

    Denise,

Nests in close proximity to the home are always a hazard. It’s a perfect location for them to creep into your home. I would recommend EcoSMART’s Organic Wasp & Hornet Killer. And yes, spray that nest! But keep a safe distance.

    Marcy,

We hope you’ll try one of our EcoSMART products for your wasp problem!

I’m a mail carrier and on my route I encounter countless amounts of wasp and hornets during the summer. Having this product would make me feel more secure knowing that I could use against these pests and not have harmful chemicals that could hurt peoples pets and other wild animals.

  11. By EcoSMART Kara on Apr 30, 2009

Good luck with your mail route, Phil!

  12. By Carolyn G on May 1, 2009

I so need this. I already see the wasps coming out and building nests.

  13. By Mike on May 12, 2009

Phil – great idea to have along on the mail route!

What effect does this product have on bees and other beneficials? (I know it would be difficult to have something that kills some but not other insects, but I was curious as to whether this testing had been done.)

  14. By Kristian Delgado on Jun 17, 2009

I have tried this product and was amazed that most wasps died in under 10 seconds just like the other non-organic products that I am used to using.

  15. By Justina Willis on Jun 28, 2009

After I spray a wasp nest I don’t knock it down, because the next year they will not build anywhere near a contaminated nest.

  16. By Deborah Harris on Jul 9, 2009

We get a lot of wasps around our house. I’m allergic and had to get a friend to get rid of a nest for us. I am worried there is another in the eaves by our door; but am afraid to check.

We’ve been looking for an Eco Safe method to rid the house of ants and spiders. We have 8 retired show dogs, 1 cat and 2 African Grey parrots so we have to be very careful about what we use.

This summer is the first time that we have had wasp and bee hives. I am finding them on my deck. I am knocking them down with a broom as soon as I see them. They are still small but sooner or later I will miss one and it will be a large one. I would love to try your product.

  21. By patricia weitz on Jul 23, 2009

I recently had a chance to try the wasp spray, and am so happy to have found it. I feel so much better using it around my pets and grandkids. And it does leave a nice scent.
Thanks for doing what you do!
now my problem is finding it in a rural area..

  22. By lorraine on Jul 27, 2009

Hi I have 3 parakeets that are kept in an avairy outside. At this time every year the wasps come, the birds food has dried fruit smells of aniseed. I have tried fly paper which was a great success but not if the birds came in contact with it, it was not good for their feathers. I have tried jam & sugar water, this is not very successful.

I need it to be okay to spray around the birds.

Can I please try your product if you think it would be suitable.

  23. By bil on Sep 13, 2009

what happens if a chicken. bird or other animal eats a wasp that has been killed by ecosmart? will they get sick with low amounts?

  24. By Cole on Oct 28, 2009

Does your product come in a “fogger” that would creep into inaccessible areas of the attic? My attic is finished with a ceiling, but wasps are nesting behind the knee walls and up near the peak in an open space where spray won’t reach. A fogger would work, though. Thanks!

  25. By Dianne on Dec 12, 2010

I need a fogger as well. I have wasps coming in my chimney when the weather gets warm – even during the winter. Then, they congregate around the windows at the top of my vaulted ceiling. The year before last was they actually started building a nest on the ceiling. I have started fogging my chimney. I have to do it every few days to keep the wasps at bay. Even then, I find dead ones all over the firebox and floor of the home.
