How to Get Rid of Millipedes
December 1st, 2008 Posted in Centipedes & Millipedes
Millipedes, oftentimes referred to as “wire bugs,” are a pesky segmented bug that find ways to get into your backyard and then eventually into the cool, damp areas of your home.
In this article, we will look at:
- Identification of a common millipede
- Millipede prevention methods
- How to get rid of millipedes
What is a Millipede?
It is easy to identify a millipede, because it is a segmented insect with a great number of legs. Millipedes are known to have anywhere from 80 to 400 legs.
Some other common characteristics of the millipede are:
- Typically 1.5 inches in size.
- Black or brown in color, but some species are red and orange.
- They are detritivores – meaning that they feed on decaying organic matter such as old leaves or tree bark.
- Because of their diet, they can be found anywhere near piles of leaves or piles of wood that you might have for the winter.
- Their lifespan is short, usually dying as soon as they enter the dryness of a building. But with the proper living conditions (a cool and damp environment) they could live from 5-10 years!

Millipede Prevention
With any type of bug, do not wait until you have an invasion that is taking over your home to do something about it. The best way to keep any bug away is prevention.
The easiest way to prevent a millipede infestation is to follow these 3 simple steps:
- Identify where nests are located in or around your home. In most cases, they will be in one area in or around your home. Look specifically in damp areas such as compost piles, mulch, wood stacks, cracks in cement pavements or driveways, or sheds to minimize places for these insects to live.
- Decide what method you want to use to treat the problem. There are both synthetic commercial insecticides and natural types of products that we will investigate below.
- Must maintain what you have started in steps one and two. If you have had one infestation of millipedes, you are probably going to have another one so keep the kinds of organic materials millipedes are attracted to down to a minimum.
Some other tips that you should keep in mind to prevent a millipede infestation are:
- Try to water your lawn in the morning so that it is dry by the afternoon.
- Do not over-mulch flower beds.
- Make sure entryways such as siding, windows, doors, pipes, wires, etc. are well caulked.
- Use a good spray in entryways, cracks, and baseboards. It is most important to use such a spray outside on the exterior walls of a house to kill them before they enter the house.

Do I Have a Millipede Infestation?
Knowing if you have a millipede infestation is not rocket science and can be identified if you take note of certain key signs that show you have a millipede problem.
These are a few questions to ask yourself if you are concerned about millipedes:
- Do emerging seedlings around your lawn look as though their outer layer has been a bug’s evening snack?
- Is there unusual damage to a plants leaves and plant apices?
- Are there areas around your home where moisture can be trapped or decaying organic matter piling up, such as trash, grass clippings, mulch, rotting firewood, leaf litter, etc.?
If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, then you might have a problem that could be solved by EcoSMART.
How to Get Rid of Millipedes
Okay So I have Millipedes… How Do I Get Rid of Them?
If you do not work hard to prevent millipedes, or you did not know how to prevent them, you need to know how to get rid of the 200-legged creatures.
Most commercial insecticide products use a synthetic chemical as the active ingredient and are applied around the foundation of the home to keep millipedes from getting inside. They are also typically labeled for use in cracks, void spaces and around appliances inside the home. While these are the most commonly used pesticides for millipede control, the labels of products that contain these ingredients are laden with warnings that these can be a risk to pets, children and adults.
They clearly tell the user that you are responsible for the effect that the pesticide could have on your plants and household, taking any blame for potential risks off of the pesticide distributor and onto you, the consumer.
Do you want to be responsible for the dangers a pesticide could cause in your home?
How Do I Get Rid of Millipedes Safely?
If you are not able to prevent an infestation, there is an organic insecticide for both on-contact killing and to spray in areas of your home that might typically attract millipedes (e.g. under the sink, around waste containers, in dark and moist areas).
That product is called EcoSMART Ant and Roach Killer – the first eco-friendly bug spray that is safe to use around your family and pets.
EcoSMART has a lot of perks over the average bug spray, such as:
- Safe for use around children and pets.
- Made from the essential oils of plants so it safely and effectively kills bugs while protecting your family.
- No pesticide residue.
- Not only does it work on millipedes, it is also effective in eliminating ants, carpenter ants, cockroaches, crickets, pill bugs, silverfish, spiders and other crawling insects on contact – so you can buy one spray that kills lots of common house bugs!
Try EcoSMART for an organic way to get rid of millipedes.

Hi, we live in New South Wales, Australia (about 3.5 hours north of Sydney). We are having a serious millipede infestation. Each night we have hundreds around and in the house and most annoyingly, hundreds in the swimming pool which ofcourse we have to remove manually. We are on acreage so have large areas to contend with. Is there something we can use (in bulk) that can control the cycle of these critters. We are having a very wet year so the garden is always moist and ofcourse when it rains they enjoy the dry areas around the house or pool. HELP PLEASE!!!

We had both millipedes coming from outside in, and some that were in the soil we used to pot some of our interior plants.
We will try this and see if it works.

I have problems with millipedes in the summer months, I see them running through my bedroom at night. Not a lot of them, maybe 1 or 2 but they freak me out and I do not like it!! I could use something to get rid of these safely as I have children and pets.

Right before I had my daughter, my husband and I found a millipede that was at least 4.5 inches long in the bedroom, worse- in the bed. Though i was enormous with the baby, I have probably never moved as fast as I did jumping away from this crawly critter. Ever since then, I have been terrified that they will get into her room. I absolutely love the tips in this blog post and knowing it was not just us who have this problem, I am definitely going to try actively to get rid of pests now, we have been hesitating to treat for them and roaches both because of the chemicals, but it is nice to know there are non harsh ways to remove them.

We used to have millipedes fall off our ceilings. It was so disgusting. We didn’t know how to get rid of it other than going up in the attic and having to seal off everything with foam stuff. I wish I would have read this sooner!

When I lived in Montana, our little cottage was overrun by millipedes and it was a huge factor in our decision to move! We tried everything to no avail. We even contacted several pesticide companies, all of whom said there was no solution which was pretty shocking, considering that’s how they make their living! We gave up. I’m glad I’m not dealing with them anymore but am intrigued by the EcoSmart product claims. If it works, they’ve got the ONLY product out there that does!

My husband and I recently moved to the gulf coast of Florida to retire. This is the first place in 50 years that I have ever seen these disgusting prehistoric looking pests. Although our home is on tall piers, these nighttime creepy crawlers are everwhere around and below the house. Last night I saw one crawling up the ground level storage room heading up to the living level of our home. That when I decided to find a safe way of getting rid of them without harming our two little Maltese dogs. We sure hope that this product works as we are embarrased when friends visit and find these creepy critters crawling across the driveway and front entrance. Help! ! !

I am glad I found this article.I live in southern Wva.And every summer my yard and home is overrun with thousands of millipedes.I have tried everything..even mixed Diesel fuel and oil and sprayed all around my house. Trust me..the diesel smell is better than thousands of decayed millipedes.I don’t have a clue where they nest or even come from. All I know is they get in my house and how is it possible to seal every crack that these stinking things can crawl through?I have even thought of tearing my old house down and building a new one more bug proof!

I live in a very wooded rural area. I have state and federal forests around me. For the last 5-6 years I have had an infestation of millipedes. The outside of the house will be covered with millions of them. I tried spraying them with several commercial insecticides and would kill thousands every night. But that did not seem to eliminate the problem. The state recommended that I clean all old leaves around the house. I live in a forest and that is impossible. Boy do we need help

We live in PA and have been having a millipede problem most of the summer. We recently added a room and deck to our house and the millipedes seem to love the new section. We noticed when we let the dog out in the middle of the night that if we leave a night light on in the hallway, the area right outside the light source is covered in millipedes trying to come in. We are finding them throughout the house and in large numbers outside on the porch. It has been raining a lot lately, so I am sure that helps… I would love to find a safe way to reduce their numbers so we don’t have to keep showering with them. Thanks.

This is the 3rd summer in a row that I’ve been overrun with millipedes. I’ve never had the problem before in 25 of years of living in the same house in SW Wisc. And it’s not just me. They don’t go away until a frost or freeze, so they’ve been ruining my summers. Exterminators don’t help much – treatment knocks them back for a few days is all. I’ve tried everything, and I’m unwilling to keep spraying toxic chemicals around my house.

I did not even know what these creatures were until I looked on the internet. They are all over the outside of my house including the front doors and until I had someone come and put on a new outside door sweep there were hundreds in the house — downstairs and upstairs. As my attic soffits are tiny but have no screens I am terrified they will come in there but hubby said they will die from the heat???? I have been squishing them but they smell horrible so I tried flushing them down the toilet. Is it true that if they just die they will smell also? I tried squirting them with Clorox Clean Up on my outside door but I think it just made them crawl up into a ball. I know they are in the mulch in the front of the house (north side that gets virtually no sun) and are all over the driveway. I heard their secretions can cause skin reactions and I have eczema on my hands already….I have been using vinyl gloves to squish them. Hopefully, they will not find other ways in now that the door sweep is on. I would like to get rid of them outside (has been a terribly almost constant rainy summer in MA). The mulch is new as I had an artillary fungus problem in the front of the house and had all that mulch taken away in the spring and the new mulch put down so I can’t imagine where they came from….it’s not like it is old mulch that has been decaying. I have a chemical sensitivity so don’t want to call the exterminator. HELP

We have hundreds of millipedes in our pool every day. It is such a pain. It needs to be cleaned each day before it is used. They also are all over our patio. Our backyard is surrounded by woods and there’s a waterfall near the pool. So, I don’t know how we can get rid of decaying material or eliminate all damp areas. Is there anything that can help?

We’ve had a millipede infestation for about 4 weeks now. Every day I have between 30 and 100 inside. I live in an apartment and they sprayed chemicals inside and outside that did not work at all. In fact, the third time I told the office they just ignored the work request. I had them caulk around the doors and it did not help. They refuse to turn off the outdoor security light or remove mulch. I sprinkled DE outside and some millipedes died but I still have many getting inside and have to vacuum every morning to get rid of the bodies. Please help!

I live on a mountain, in the woods and it is very damp around our house. I have thousands of millipedes infesting my house every summer. I have tried everything to get rid of them. I vacuum every day and walk around with a dustpan and brush and pick these bugs up all day long. They never stop coming into my house. I have used all kinds of bug killers and some will kill them after they get into my house, but there are thousands of them that pile up dead and always new ones trailing across my floors. You can’t even walk around inside our house without shoes on. These bugs smell terrible and they are also in my shower and tub every morning. I find them in my laundry, crawling up my walls, up on my kitchen counter, everywhere. They are driving me crazy, I can’t even enjoy the summer months anymore. I am actually looking forward to the cold weather so they go away! HELP!!!

I live in WA, Aussie, and this is the first time I encounter this problem. We never had these pest nuisance in other houses. I get goosebumps everytime i see them and it is very annoying. They come in from under doors, window slits almost anywhere that is accessible. What makes it worse is that they dot the walls and ceiling of the house at nights, only to accumulate eventually in hard to reach areas such as lighting structures causing unsightly blur dark blotches over the lights. Outside of the house, they hide under pots and no matter how i rearrange them, they return! Please help!

Regardless, they can live outdoors – not in my house. I have come upon this website talking about EcoSmart. How can I try it to help to get rid of the centipedes and spiders. I live in Illinois, and just came home to hundreds of millipedes crawling up the front of my garage and house! A few have been crawling around inside the house as well. I just had a large lumber delivery in my driveway a few days ago, and I am wondering if this may be the source. It has not been wet around here lately, so I am just confused as to why there are so many all at once!!!! I am really grossed out. Hope I can try this product and get rid of these things!

Early October, a finished basement in Maryland: had my first millipede sighting on the carpet about a week or two ago. Dismissed as a one-time occurrence. Then I saw another one crawling up the wall a few days ago. Reported it to the parents and I’m classified as crazy: ‘Just a harmless bug that’s more afraid of you than you are of it…’ Whatever. I spotted another two on the carpet earlier today. And now I’ve seen one crawling up the side of the front door on the main living level! AHHH! How long until they reach my second story bedroom and bathroom?! I’m finally getting around to doing some online research and I’m really grossed out but what I’m finding. Hundreds crawling around outside? Falling from the ceiling? In my bed?! *Hugs knees and slowly rocks back and forth* Suddenly 4 padded walls sounds very pristine and inviting… Send me my ecosmart!

I live in the Caribbean where is always summer. We have millipede infestations constantly. They follow eachother’s trail and enter the home all lined up about 2 per minute in the evenings. I am afraid of continued use of pesticides since they require quite a bit of pesticide to really control them. Please help ecosmart.
By EcoSMART Megan on Feb 8, 2010
Shelly,
Overusing chemical pesticides is definitely dangerous. EcoSMART’s products are all 100% safe to use around your home.
The all natural ingredients will not leave a chemical residue so you can use it directly on that line of millipedes to prevent them from even getting in the door.
Enjoy the summer!

We live in Melbourne, Australia. We have never had a problem before but the last 2 days it has been raining and they are everywhere! I have picked up over 200 from inside the house in the last 24 hours and everytime I turn around there are more. They are all over the outside of the house and are really starting to gross me out. One or two I can handle but this is getting ridiculous. I don’t like chemicals aroudn the house because of the children but I am getting desperate. If this works I would be thrilled.

i live in Melbourne, Australia and not too long ago we started to see them around the house, but lately it seems they’re everywhere.
Problem is i pick them up throw them outside but they keep coming back in, i need something to kill or if possible just keep them outside. Any suggestions? Is there a reason why they come inside the house? Any information would be great.
My daughter picked one up the day and handed it over to mummy….funniest reaction by a frightened woman ever

Dear Mario,
This article, House Millipedes: Is Your House a Millipede Hot Spot, gives great tips on millipede control in the home.
Millipedes can venture inside for a variety of reasons, but they do gravitate towards dark, damp places in the home. Our Ant and Roach Killer is best for a millipede problem.

89mls of Rain in one day. Lights left on outside when we went out to Dinner – Resulted in external walls of house being covered in Millipede(every square inch of wall top to bottom). Have now vacuumed walls every day for 4days and disposed of creatures in bucket of water. Looks nice for 5 min but turn your back and MORE HAVE ARRIVED. Fortunately they haven’t made it into the bedrooms or I might have had to leave home!

We live in the Adelaide hills in south australia and after a hot summer the rains have caused thousands of millipedes to invade our home , our home is surrounded by paved areas and you can see them crawling over the pavers towards the house. Our garage walls are totally covered with the creatures as a light was left on. what sprays outside would help , we get a fair bit of rain so powders would be washed away.

We live in Perth WA and have had this problem for a number of years now. I mulch the garden, the last lot of mulch had the millipedes in it so it seems they live and probably breed in the mulch. I keep reading they like damp areas but every time it rains they escape from the wet garden into our nice dry house. We had a heavy rain day before yesterday, a few appeared yesterday, many more today, it hadn’t rained for 3 months, no rain, no millipedes but when it does rain we have a daily problem.

I moved into my apartment May of last year and had to deal with little black millipedes daily during the spring and summer. They would crawl through the front door. I kept the tiled area at the door constantly COVERED with bug spray, as well as a perimeter outside, around the front door. Nothing worked. Only direct contact with the spray in liquid form would kill them…and by then, they were already inside. I need something that will deter them…or kill them BEFORE they get inside.
I’m dreading this summer.

Dear Michael,
This article gives some great advice for how to prevent an infestation.
However, if you’re still having a problem. Try spraying any that make it through your door with EcoSMART’s Home Pest Control spray.

Hi, we have a huge problem at a unit complex, millions are coming from the gardens, the garden guys have tried synthetic pyrethroids to no avail.
Will your product work in the gardens, would we have to use bulk…………20-30-40 litres to fix the problem?
Cheers
By EcoSMART Megan on Apr 5, 2010
Dear Gill Christiansen,
If your garden guys plan to use pesticides on such a large scale, EcoSMART”s commercial partners will be a great help.
See EcoPCO, EcoEXEMPT and EcoSMART commercial products for a solution.

We live in Maryland and have a huge millipede problem. I go outside every night to see them walking back and forth and up the front of the house. I dug out half of the garden last year, which I hoped solved the problem. In the last few weeks they have returned again…like I did nothing. I’ve tried every product from Depot and Lowes, and NONE of them work. Please help before I bring in a backhoe.

Here we go again…I live in High Desert of northern Nevada and for several years now once the weather begins to warm, we start seeing a steady flow of millipedes inside our house until the snow begins to fall! These things are impossible to kill and frankly are disgusting! I have to manually sweep them up out of our living areas pretty much everyday. You definitely don’t want to squish them! Would love to have a way to keep them out! Please help.

I live near the Southern Mt. Lofty Ranges and have a major problem with millipedes.
Am currently sweeping up an average of 60-80 per night just in my bedroom. They are attracted to pale colours so the darker tiles in my house are almost millipede free.
They are like drop bears in the night, making that awful cracking sound as they hit the wooden floor. Have got an organic pest control company coming next week but would like to be able to control it myself in the future.
Would appreciate your input

If I put out a borax dusting it’ll kill them and I just sweep them up, BUT there’s an endless supply of them. I’ve killed a million or more of them, but 100’s still make there way into my home. Our home is infested with millipedes beyond imagination. It gets worse daily. It has been raining for the last few days and this morning, the infestation inside our home is worse than ever, especially in the bathroom and kitchen where you can count at least 50 of the pests wherever you stand! We have tried commercial insecticides, but they only helped a little, and only for a few days. I have asked around and discovered that the entire county has this problem. If this product works, this entire county could use it!

We just moved into a new apartment only to be greeted a few days later by millipedes!! My life has changed ever since!i hardly sleep anymore and never walk around in the dark. They creep me out! none of our neighbours are complaining(which is weird) they just appear out of nowhere on the carpet. We don’t have much furniture and not a single inside plant and no moist or humid areas in the house. HELP!!
By Robin on Jul 4, 2010
Here we go again! I HATE these things. If they like dark, damp, moist areas, why do they come inside and crawl around on my carpet? The dehumidifier runs 24/7 in the garage and they still come in there by the hundreds. No more walking around in barefeet – ugh. I’ve tried an “internet tip” of sprinkling cheap powdered laundry detergent on the ground in a 1′ wide band around the foundation, but other than smelling nice in the garage, it’s had no effect! Our dogs occasionally eat grass so using the “hard stuff” is out of the question. Please help! Signed,

We build our house 8 years ago and have never had a problem with millipedes. We have an inground pool outside our walk out basement. This year we have a ton of these things clustering at my doorways and crawling around at night; up the wall of the house, etc. In the morning those that are on the cement are usually dead unless they’ve found a wet spot; under a pool toy or cooler, then they’re still alive and in a huge group! We just moved into a home in East Texas. We have millions of millipedes outside and pick up between 100 and 200 daily inside (I’m at 143 today and it’s only 10:30 am). We have also seen 3 scorpions. We have had the house and yard exterminated by a professional company and we have bought several products ourselves and although some die, it’s not solving the problem at all. The pest control company even told me there was nothing they can do about the scorpions. That as long as there is a food source (millipedes), we will have them. We have a daughter that is highly allergic to bug bites and I am worried she is going to get stung by a scorpion. Apparently, this entire area of East Texas is infested by millipedes (wish I had known before we moved here). Exterminator said they showed up about 2 years ago. Please tell me you can help. I’m sure all East Texans would love to find out that there is something out there that works.

I have lived in a four unit apartment building in central New York for three years. This is the second year having a millipede infestation. I sweep them up by the bucket fulls. When it rains hard, I think the water runs into cracks under the building because that is where the worms seem to mostly be. The landlord has had an exterminator spray a couple times but there doesn’t seem to be any difference. Everyone in the building has pets and/or children so something non-toxic is needed. Please help.

My husband and I had a few millipedes inside the house last year, but nothing like what’s happened these past few days. After a hard rain a few nights ago, we awoke to see the side of our house that faces the garden completely covered in millipedes. It looked like they had descended onto the house. They were all over the clapboards, mostly up higher. Since then, we’ve killed about ten to fifteen a day in the living space of our most. Most, fortunately, are in the basement. We currently have a one year old, and I’m thirty weeks pregnant. We don’t feel comfortable spraying with a lot of chemicals inside of the house for these reasons. We’d love to test EcoSmart, since it seems like a healthier way to try to treat the infestation.

I was excited to see EcoSmart listed, because I used their “spray-on-yourself” product for mosquito, chigger, tick, etc. and it is absolutely awesome! I live in western New York. Our house is in the country and we have many trees on our lot. !2 acres of forest behind us…. Last year we started having a Millipede invasion and this year it gotten much worse !
Each night there are hundred all around the house. On the walks….the deck…in front of our garage doors & on the siding. I have made an aluminum bent spatula on a broom stick and kill hundreds by “sweeping” them with this blade [ it squishes them ] The smell is horrendous ! I can be out there for hours. By the time I have completed this chore….its time to start over again. I have killed them with Windex + dishwashing detergent BUT it only kills them on contact. So far I’ve only seen 3 in the house.
Would like to try your product to determine if will stop them from multiplying even more!

We have a small problem with millipedes in the house, only 2-3 per day and contact sprays seem to kill them off reasonably quickly. HOWEVER I have a nice strawberry patch with about 25 plants yielding 8-10 stawberries every day for our breakfast. The millapedes are burrowing in and eating the strawberries from the inside. Will EcoSmart work on this situation and will the strawberries be safe to eat? What is the procedure to use this product safely?

Hi Bill,
EcoSMART Garden Insect Killer should do the trick. Because it’s organic, you can still eat the strawberries. You can read the label online to familiarize yourself with safe handling.

These millipedes seem to be worse at night coming into the house in droves. We spend all night and early morning vacuuming them up. They are also all over the ceiling of the garage and all down the driveway. I need to spray around the perimeter of the whole house. How much Ecosmart will I need to do that?

Hi Ken,
I would suggest the 60 oz EcoSMART Home Pest Control. Good luck.

Last year was our fourth summer in our new home, and every night I would collect approximately 50 millipedes from the basement and garage floors, plus a few daily who made their way into the living areas of the house. I was hoping that it would not become an annual thing, but yesterday (the first day to reach 60 degrees outside) I spotted one crawling up the driveway toward the house. I have to try something!

Hi,
We have moved to our new home last year of Autumn, and since then, I noticed that we have millipedes in our house which I thought is not too much of a problem, since December we have so much of them crawling inside specially in our Front Porch and in our laundry area, virtually all over the house including the carpeted area and our bedroom. Last Friday, 25-Mar,at around midnight, I have seen hundreds of them in our Front Porch and in the ceiling surrounding the main door. I bought surface spray but I think it’ll only last overnight and they can still get in the house eventually. Please help me, it freaks me out everytime I see them crawling. Is there a way, I can eradicate them and will prevent them crawling inside my house. The house is always clean and the garden is always tidy. I have extreme fear of them. Thanks.

Hi Rae,
You can use EcoSMART Home Pest Control to safely get rid of them. Good luck!

We have recently just moved into a new house and have discovered a major millipede problem. Their are usually thousands gathered around the home with a number of them gaining access through cracks and seals. They have become a nuisance and want them gone.

Hi Aleda,
You can try EcoSMART And & Roach Killer or EcoSMART Home Pest Control. Try to locate the nest and start there. Good luck!

Howdy
I live in the Adelaide hills and like all houses around here suffer from serious millipede problems. How often would your product need to be re-applied around the outside of the house? Can it be used on the garden itself?
Thanks
By EcoSMART Kait on Apr 8, 2011
Hi Andrew,
If you want to use EcoSMART on your garden, I recommend EcoSMART Garden Insect Killer to ensure your plants don’t have any adverse reactions to the essential oils.

I live in Grenada West Indies and have always had a problem with millipedes but this year it is worse. I have between 100 – 200 each night on the front veranda. Several times each year I spray around the house with SEVIN to prevent termites but nothing stops the millipedes. I do spray the veranda each night but am afraid what the residue is doing to my dogs. Also I have 3 acres with numerous fruit trees which the nasty critters thrive on. Am at my wits end.

My mom has had hundreds and likely thousands of millipedes invading her garage for the last couple of years. Once in a while she finds a couple in the basement. They really “bug” her and I’d love to help her get rid of them. She turned 90 this year and doesn’t really need this aggravation each year. Please help me, help her!

I moved into a ground floor/basement apt this past fall. Millipedes have been showing up on the ground in every room, even during the winter. Now that spring is starting, there have been more and more, and the other day there was a BIG one in the kitchen. They are so gross even my cat (who loves to catch and eat bugs, much to my disgust) won’t eat them. I am terrified of what this place will be like in the summer. Probably crawling with bugs. I need a spray that will stop them that is safe around my cat.

Hi,
We are a pest control firm and have been using essential oils in our services for nearly 20 years, as well as diatomacious earth and many other as ‘natural’ methods and products, we are also environmentally cerifified. I am keen to trial your product/s, we have a large complex with 100’s K of millipedes, many other pest companies have treated without success using SP’s and other. How do I order or access your product?
Cheers

We live in Tallahassee, Florida. We have hundreds of trees that drop their leaves each winter and we have thousands of square feet where leaves are up to a foot thick. We cannot vacate all the leaves, only the ones directly around the house. As dark approaches, we have hundreds of Millipedes congregate around and on the siding of the house. Need a solution if you have one. Thanks Jeff Elkins

We put an addition on our house 1 1/2 years ago and since that time have been overwhelmed with millipedes in the new and old basements — thousands of them!! Last night I spent 2 solid hours vacuuming them up. I assured my daughter that we would fix up our basement when we put on the addition and would have no more bugs. Well, we used to have some spiders and a few rolly-pollies — now we have thousands of millipedes! I don’t know how they are getting in, but I need help! thanks

I’ve lived in this house for decades and never before had this problem. First I noticed them daily in the bathroom, in the shower, and sometimes a half dozen on the bath mat, especially if it was wet. When I went into the basement, they were crawling all over the floor and up the walls. I’ve also noticed them on one particular wall on the outside of our stucco house. They’re beginning to make their way to the 2nd floor. I just awoke to find one crawling on my arm in bed! Gross! Although our house is located in a rural area, we don’t have any mulch or leaves on the ground, and firewood is stacked about 40′ from the house. We had an extremely wet spring, but the humidity has normalized over the course of the summer. I’d love to be a tester! Thanks!

Hi,
I have lived in my home for 9 years. The house is built into the side of a hill so half of the living space is under ground level. We do have problems with dampness, but run 2 dehumidifiers and manage to keep this under cintrol. We have always noticed a few millipeds but never really been bothered until this year when we have been invaded!!! They seem to be in every room but are most prolific in the under ground levels. We have not tried any pest control products but are willing to try anything at this point because we NEED to get this problem under control!!!!

We have thousands of millepedes in our basement on our garage door and in our downstairs family room. Not they are slowly making their way upstairs into my kitchen and living room. They are stinky and disgusting. I don’t know how to get rid of them. We notice them more at night. We are going through major outside construction and this seems to have brought them out.

I would be thrilled to try your product. I live in central PA, surrounded largely by cornfields, in the same home for 14 years. I had not seen a millipede until 3 years ago, and now, for the past two summers, the numbers are increasing so that my porches and home are becoming infested by mid-summer. I have not been able to identify any nesting area. It is likely I need to cut back the shrubbery from around my home and I might be able to locate a problem area. In any case, I hope that you will consider me a candidate, as I am anxious to eliminate this annoying problem in a way that is not injurious to my pets and family. Thanks so much!

Help, We live in northeastern PA. This summer we have been invaded by millions of millipedes. They are everywhere, climbing the walls outside at night, and some getting into the house. We have been spraying with Sevin, but it only slows them down temporarily. Every day, we sweep them up by the thousands. The dead ones smell terrible. We could use a safe product to get rid of these creatures.

I live in Southeast Florida, Palm Beach County. This is the first year that I have seen so many millipedes. Each morning I go out to my carport to read and drink some coffee. For the past few weeks I have been squishing these little pests by the dozen, day and night. I haven’t found their nesting place, yet! I hope that your product testing is still available, I am seeking an effective, environmentally safe means of control. I’m sure my neighbors would use a safe product too. Most of us have children and pets that play outside. This morning’s “death toll” is up over three dozen, just in my carport!
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.
