Great Pic! I’m hoping to try this soon for when we get ants inside the house. I haven’t been afraid to use the “old” chemicals outside, but on rare occasion something gets in and this seems like a good solution where I don’t want my children and bird harmed. (Oh – and I bet I can post a great pic!)

Really need to try the EcoSmart Ant & Roach Killer. Have tried Boric Acid powder, Raid, Home Defense and serveral brands of bug killing room aerosols (fumigrants) to no sucess. Have a pet so safety is high on my list plus getting something that works!

Does anyone know if EcoSmart products can be used to get of ant hills outside?
By Kit on May 25, 2009
I found the ant&roach spray yesterday at Lowe’s in the organic lawn care dept. I have lots of spiders that seem to love any porch if you live near the lake, and they love to get in the house, too. This morning I cleaned and sprayed around all the windows and doors. I am so glad to find a product safe to use around my two cats. (and I love the smell it leaves)

As much as I hated to do it, I ended up calling a “Professional Pest Control” company out to spray our yard. After cutting down an old, rotting winter pear tree, we found why it was rotting so bad- it was horribly infested with fire ants. Literally to the point that the inside diameter of the tree was hollow- out of the 8 inches of trunk, there was only about 1-2 inches left around the edges!
Once the tree was down, the ants took over our yard and were heading in the house. Considering we are pretty “green” we really wanted to avoid using any chemicals or anything that was not eco friendly. After several months of trying everything we could find, we were at wits end! Our son got biten up just walking from the front to the back yard, and our indoor cats were getting bit too. So we caved and had a company come out and spray the yard, which ended up making my family all sick to our stomachs, so we had to spend the night at a hotel (with our cats) just to get away from the odor. The next day the fumes were better, but they still persisted somewhat for almost a week. We were told that this treatment would take care of the problem, and we should be fine now. Things were fine for about 2 weeks, then the ants came back even worse than before!
I wear all we did was make them mad!
While I sat discussing the problem with my neighbor, her son arrived from Florida for a visit. He entered into the discussion and immediately went to his camper to get what he called “the miracle cure” for all sorts of pests. Guess what that miracle cure was? Yep, EcoSmart Ant & Roach Killer.
After he sprayed just once the ants were gone. They didn’t come back again for a few months either- and when they did, it was no where near what it was like before. One spray around with the EcoSmart and problem solved once again! I know nothing will keep the bugs away forever, so having to re-spray even every week if I had to would be fine. As long as what I am using is EcoSmart! I don’t have to worry about all the dangers of toxic chemicals or inhaling all those nasty fumes. Actually, I like the smell of the EcoSmart! At the end of the day, here is a product that not only works as it says it will, but is safe for the environment and our children and pets. Why would anyone want to use anything else?

What a cute dog! My family of four plans on getting a dog in the next year. The house we are in has ants that show up in the early summer. We have tried natural ways to kill them, but nothing has worked 100% yet. We look forward to trying out a new eco, child & pet friendly product!
Thanks!!

I have been looking for a eco-friendly way to cure our ant problem. Our apartment has seen a steady increase of ants since the start of spring. My problem is that i have a 2 year old little guy in the house, so i want a product that is safe to use in the apartment that won’t cause any health concern for him either. I would love to test your product!!
By Tammy on Jul 9, 2009
I’d be interested in testing out the EcoSmart ant killer. It’s a really dry year this year and the ants have taken over the entire real estate in my front yard under the pine trees. They’re such a pain and getting rid of them without damaging the environment feels impossible.

We have serious ant problems EVERY year about this time. Just as the weather warms up, the ants start to move. Our patio is so infested that we can’t eat outside without them crawling up our legs.
They come into the house through our patio doors and march two-by-two across our family room to the recliners where we spend most of our time. We thought we had found their nest last year and demolished it … guess not though … they were back again this year with a vengeance.
We also have another type of ant in our front yard area (cornfield ants, my husband says…they have wings). They swarm into our entrance hall whenever I open the door.
These home-invasion problems last about 2 – 3 weeks, but the ants NEVER leave our patio so we can’t enjoy outdoor life.
We also have sowbugs that eat our basil, and those creepy wolf spiders that come out of the bush and terrify me every spring and fall.
WE NEED HELP!!!

I keep finding ants all over my bathroom, in the shower and on my vanity…it’s really gross, I’ve had someone come out and spray but they were only gone for a while and now they’re back and worse than before. I have a small dog and I don’t want to keep spraying harmful pesticides into the air that she breathes all day long. Please help me get rid of these ants without harming my dog.

I have ants all over my back yard, and I can’t stand sitting outside to enjoy some nice sunny day, once I put a BBQ or any event they come in big numbers to the food and its really annoying. also recently they have been getting into the basement and walk on top of me while enjoying my tv show. I had to buy ants killers food but no use because they are in thousands in my backyard! and I had to place mice glue traps to stop them but its no use. Really annoying and sometimes I feel I have an ant on top of me if a tiny breeze of air hits my hair. Really depressing!

We have ants in our kitchen. THey are only around our table right now but I am worried they will creep towards the counter and into other things. We have 2 small children and 2 cats so I am looking for somthing that if safe for both of them and would love to EcoSmart.
By JD on Jul 13, 2009
This would be a great product to try as this year we have had ant hill after ant hill popping up in our yard and killing our grass. So far I have been using other methods; the stakes, powders, and nectars; which are all poisonous and have had to limit my my two year old and my dog from large parts of the yard for extended periods of time. If there are any trials left I would love to try it.

By Cameron Haynes on Jul 25, 2009
The best prevention is not to attract them in the first place. I have been in pest control for 20 yrs. and have tried to educate people to stop inviting them in the first place. 1)Pet dishes outside can be place in an aluminum pie/turkey pan with water 1/2″ deep. 2)Move the garbage cans away from the house as far as possible and reasonable. 3) Don’t place bird feeders to close to the home as guess who also feeds on the seeds(yes ants! and rats!!) There are many other things that will help like watching the plants you move in and out of the home. Ants love the soil in these. When left outside they get moisture but when moved back in they may be harbouring ants and as you may know some of which are very small and if you are like me(older~not old) then your eyes aren’t what they were. Planting bushes and foliage to close to the structure is a big,BIG no-no but no one seems to be able to get that simple fact to builders. You can move them out 3,4,5 feet but who wants to work that hard. It’s the moisture from watering the plants that attracts the ants in the first place. In the end the best answer I can give you is all the ants come from OUTSIDE. I WOULD GET ANY MISC. DEBRIS FROM AROUND YOUR STRUCTURE AS THIS MAKES GOOD HIDING SPOTS FOR NOT ONLY ANTS BUT BUGS AND RODENTS AND SNAKES!!!! Hope these ideas help.
By Cameron Haynes on Jul 25, 2009
I wanted to add a P.S. Ther many different kinds of ants and the majority are NOT a problem to people as they DO NOT BITE OR INVADE THE HOME. The reason why I mention this is because I have people all the time complaining about the ants in the yard but when I look they are very often a non-threatning species so go easy on setting off alarms when they don’t even need treating. There are “GOOD ANTS” out there.

Does it work against Japanese Beetles? They are hard bodied and traps only call beetles from within 5 miles to come and mate. Not a good option. My trees, raspberries, roses, hibiscus, fuchsia, etc. are covered with this horrible beetles. It is getting too late in the season, but I am curious if you have any data.

I love to become a tester for this. I have cats, dogs, lots of birds, and a hamster, all in the house. I do have a roach problem inside.I can only do 1 room at a time and have to move all the birds into another room, then clean their cages and after a few hours bring them back into their original room. This is very tedious work. The dogs and cats have to go into carriers and stay outside during this time.I I know Raid ant and roach killer works instantly, but I can only use it with no animals around. It would kill the birds instantly, too. They are very sensitive to that. I love to have a petsafe product which works, I have tried some which say they work, but they did not do anything except getting the bugs adjutated. so I am not using those anymore and I wasted my money. If your product works and is safe, I would use it regularly
