i hate, hate, hate them, im from somerset in england and they are everywhere. i cant leave the house once it gets dark as i physically shake when i see them and at night they are very active!! im lucky as my dog eats them and after reading this i have realised that my dog has been digging them up for the last month or so and its not all his fault as to how bad our lawn looks. do u sell the bug killer in the uk as i would VERY much like to use it instead of hiding when i wee one. also they do bite!! they are like large nats and if u get bitten by one its the same as a nat bite. u wont notice it straight away but then it gets very itchy.

I live in Western New York, the past 2 years I've noticed an increase in these harmless adult flies. They're all over the back patio and side of house not bothering anything, just doing their thing. But lo and behold, this spring my back yard lawn looks more bare and thin in spots (like male pattern baldness)something else I dealt with. After reading articles and taking lawn samples... the lawn is infested with "leather jackets". Can this be controlled with no harm or side effects done to pets or a toddling grandchild?

Last year we began digging our gardens and found millions of these disgusting Leatherjackets under our lawn.Over the winter and into the spring they have had their fill of our grass, and half of our lawn is gone. I ve read that the best time to erradicate them is when they hatch and lay new eggs. When do you suggest people use your product? Will your product need to be resprayed or is it a one shot deal?

I just had enough, Now that I have read this article I think that they actually killed my beautiful Fig tree. The population just keeps getting bigger every year, this time is a full on raid.
Granted that within a month they are all gone but I just don't want to think about the damage they'll cause next.

BTW I don't have a lawn anymore it cement for me.

My family just moved into a new neighborhood and we love it. Unfortunately we are overloaded with these crane flies. My worry is that these 'larvae' will prevent my dad and I from having the garden in the back yard that we want. We have the patches in our yard already and the flies are everywhere. Is there a way to get rid of the ones that are already fully grown? I wanted to see if there is a candle or something to get rid of them while we are outside at least. It is very annoying for them to infest my garage and house when I want to relax and enjoy my space.
