Green means clean, but can clean be green?

Are you cleaning green?

If not, it’s time to start. But don’t worry; incorporating safe cleaning products into your home is doable if you follow a few tips, according to Grow a Green Planet.
Look at the Label for Clues
The first tips simply involve reading a label. Just because it says “green” doesn’t mean it really is. The famous Mr. Yuck picture is a good starting point.
- Check ingredients. Multiple chemical names you can’t pronounce or Hazmat warnings are risk signs.
- Don’t listen to every advertisement. Even if it says “Environmentally safe” doesn’t mean it necessarily is.
- Chlorine-free cleaners mean they have other chemicals to make up for it. Check and ensure the pH level stays between 4 and 9.
- Find the seal of approval. The U.S. Green Building Council and government organizations, like Energy Star, rate companies’ Carbon Footprint in order to give them a seal of approval. Companies put this label of complaince on their products.
Shop Green to Clean Green
Though not as familiar as a grocery store chain, try local alternatives. Local goods give you the opportunity to look into products from close to home, instead of buying from a company across the country.
Purchasing biodegradable or recyclable products is another key.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has compiled a list of recommended products for both home cleaning and office use.
Cleaning green is possible. It just takes some know-how, which you know now.

We started cleaning green after the birth of our daughter. People worry about bacteria and germs making your babies sick, when all actualitly, it is the cleaning products that are more harmful. We have inspired our cleaning lady to start a “we clean green” cleaning service. What a hit!

Insects to small to see without a microscope
are living in my house. They itch me and
leave bites. I have used items prescribed
by the doctor. I Want a safe spray for
inside my house. Have spiders, ear wigs,
lots of chipmunks around the home – no pets.
I would like to test your products in my
home.
