Aphids are a lady bug’s favorite treat and a plant’s worst enemy. To ensure your plants are safe from the wrath of an aphid attack you need to protect them.

A few ways to protect your garden are by using ladybugs, chemical pesticides, and organic pesticides. Deciding which method to use is an important decision to help ensure your garden’s continued health.

Ladybug Based Control
Many people enjoy ladybugs for their bright and colorful appearance, but don’t realize how helpful they are in other ways. Ladybugs are the aphids’ main predator and can be helpful in their continued control. The aphid is a pest because they eat the leaves of many species of plants.
The ladybugs eat aphids and other plant-eating insects, which in turn protects your crops or garden without any negatives side effects because the ladybug does not feed on the plant’s leaves. Ladybugs lay hundreds of eggs near aphid colonies to give their larvae an ample supply of food upon hatching.
Ladybugs live for three to six weeks and in this time will consume about 5,000 aphids. Ladybugs are a natural way to remove aphids from your garden and still be affordable. Cheaply and easily purchased online, ladybugs can be sent to your home quickly and will soon take back control of your aphid infested garden.
Chemical Pesticides
Pesticides rich in conventional chemicals are one of the most common methods of insect control. Many use these pesticides to help control the aphids damaging their plants, but don’t realize the downfalls to this method. Soft pesticides work on the soft bodies of the aphid and seep into their skin.

These pesticides are fairly strong and begin to work on contact with the aphid’s body. These types of pesticides are very effective, but so effective they also poison the environment, animals, and sometimes people.
Although you’re using these pesticides to spray aphids on trees and shrubs, but in actuality you are affecting the entire food chain in the process. These long-term and short-term side effects are the cost of controlling aphids with chemical pesticides.

Hi John,
You can buy ladybugs online, and they’ll get shipped right to your house. Upon receiving, you can release them into your garden. Good luck.
