Home Pests Control: Removing Wasps From Your Home & Property TODAY

March 26th, 2010 Posted in Stinging Insects

Yellow jackets, wasps, hornets, bees, or whatever you want to call them, are sometimes a threat to you and your family. Whether there is a wasp’s nest on your roof or a swarm of bees bothering you at a picnic, these insects can be a real pain.

Practicing proper control methods can help you quickly and effectively stop these pests in their tracks. At the same time, it’s also important to be aware of the safety of your family and the environment when choosing which control methods are best for you.

Conventional Home Pests Control
Chemical pesticides and insecticides are the most common form of conventional pest control. Extremely effective and strong, these chemical pesticides and insecticides work on contact helping setup an integrated pest management system. By using this method of control it’s possible for farmers to increase their agricultural yields and protect their stockpiles of food from being eaten or disturbed by pests.

Conventional control methods can also help decrease the frequency of diseases spread to humans as well. Mosquitoes and other disease transmitting insects can be controlled or eliminated and this helps to lower the amount of bites people get. Therefore, by limiting the amount of bites people receive, the amount of diseases contracted (like malaria or yellow fever) also decreases.

However, there are also negative consequences to using such methods of control. Chemical pesticides and chemical insecticides are toxic if people or animals come in contact with them. Exposure to these toxic chemicals can occur in many ways. For humans the most common means of exposure is when these pesticides or insecticides are sprayed throughout your home where it is easy to come in contact with them.

For animals it is even easier to come into exposure with these chemicals because they get absorbed by the environment and travel throughout the food chain, having stronger and more serious effects as they move from organism to organism. Before you begin to use chemical pesticides and insecticides against bees and wasps, make sure you take into account the possible negative side effects.

Organic Home Pests Control
Using organic pesticides and organic insecticides is quite helpful in dealing with wasps and other pests because they are effective, but don’t have the same downsides as typical pesticides and insecticides have. For instance, EcoSMART’s organic pesticides and insecticides work on contact in your home or on your property. They work against a multitude of indoor and outdoor pests with various products designed to kill specific species of insects or weeds.

EcoSMART’s natural wasp killer has been designed to naturally prevent and kill wasps from being a pest inside and outside your home. Working on contact, this pesticide targets specific receptors found in only in insects. Therefore, organic insecticides and organic pesticides are generally much less toxic. They are safe for use around animals, the environment, and most importantly your family.

    Hello,
We have all different colors of wasps and bees around our house making the entries to the house difficult sometimes but almost impossible to use the patio for cooking and BBQ’s. We do live in the country. Recently I found 2 of the brown colored and 1 yellow jacket in the house. I have 2 tiny dogs and worry about them getting stung. Would like to try your spray. Thank you

Wasp issue outside, keep spraying but they keep coming back. Does your product help from reoccurring? Would like to test. Also have an issue with tiny black ants near the back door. Thank you

I would love to be a product tester for EcoSMART Wasp and Hornet Killer. The outside of my house is home to three different kinds of wasps: paper wasps, yellow jackets, and mud daubers. I don’t mind the mud daubers since they’re not aggressive and they eat black widow spiders, but the other two types need to go! I normally don’t use traditional pesticides, but I make an exception for those particular stinging pests. Since the EcoSMART products are non-toxic, is it okay to leave the nests up so birds can eat the larvae? Thanks!

    Hi Christine,

The product won’t have any adverse effect on the birds, so it should be fine to leave the nests up.

Thanks for commenting – and best of luck!

I moved to a new apartment and after unpacking, I stacked several of the empty boxes on the balcony to give to a friend who would be moving soon. She never got them and now I want to break them down to recycle the cardboard. But I found a paper wasp nest built on the underside of a boxflap! I want to have my balcony back this week, but I’ve called the locations listed in the nearby “where to buy,” and they don’t have the EcoSmart Wasp & Hornet Killer in stock. I’d love to try your spray, and find a retailer nearby who has the Insect Repellent too! I rarely buy online, but may have to in order to use your product.
I’m really excited to find something without the harsh chemicals!
    Thanks!

I have an issue, not sure whether they’re honeybees, wasps or etc.
They come every night around 9.30pm and sort of swarm the outside corner of my ceiling in small amount. I can’t really see them where they go because it’s too high to see what is going on there.
Do you have any ideas? and would the spray go that far?

I have wasps living behind the shutters on my home. I have a dog and cat, and really am not a fan of pesticide due to this reason. I would really love to try your product to see if it works.

I just purchased EcoSMART granules for cicada killer wasps in our back yard. We have dogs so I’m hoping this works. I didn’t see any information regarding application to the nest holes in the ground. I’m going to try applying the granules around the mounds at night to see what happen.

We live in Texas and have been battling wasps for about 4 years now.

Hubbie found a HUGE nest in the attic 4 years ago while insulating and thankfully it was 30 degrees outside. He sprayed it and then removed it but since then we have had wasps swarming around our home every spring and just before winter looking for a new home. Sometimes the swarm is so bad that I cannot leave the house or even open the front door to those brave enough to even come to the door :0) We also have a wood deck in the back and I have seen them swarming around the deck and going underneath. Not sure if they nesting there or not but right now I believe they are currently nesting in the cable space above my son’s bedroom and possibly in the corner paneling on the back of the house.

I would love to try your product since I do have two children, birds, and a dog that I do not want to expose them to any more chemicals. I want these wasps gone for good!

    Thank you!
    Julie

I would love to test this product. I am terrified of wasps and many times they keep me from enjoying my yard and garden. But, do I have to actually spray this on them? I might be too scared to get that close…. :)

This summer a colony of paper wasps have invaded the overhang around my house. There are 2 larger nests around the back of the house and 1 on the shed. That area is full of wasp activity including the mud hole building ones on my window panes. Which is unfortunate because my 3 year olds swing set is within 5 feet of the biggest nest. We also have a smaller paper wasp nest being constructed directly above my side door, the main entrance used to our home. I have to use this door to get to the laundry room that is connected to our carport. I am very frustrated with the invasion of these wasps. I have tried numerous chemicals and have hosed the nests down repeatedly. They keep coming back to the same places to make their nests again and again. I read something recently that said these wasps excrete a pheromone around their nesting site and at the base of their nests. I assume, this pheromone is what attracts them back to the same place. I’ve also read that enzyme based cleaners are the best way to defeat them by washing away the pheromone. Unfortunately I am not able to climb up there and scrub down any of the nest sites. This seems a bit unrealistic given the nest locations. I really don’t want to call a professional company to do this. Can you tell me if these are accurate facts and if your product is able to get rid of the attracting pheromone? I need a product that will diminish this pheromone and keep them from coming back to the same nesting grounds. If your product is capable of doing so, I am more than willing to try it. I would much rather use an Eco friendly product than continue to use these nasty chemicals that are harmful to my family and environment. Are you still offering product testers to the first 1,000 commenters?? I hope this comment allows me to be one of the product testers!

I’m wondering if anyone can help me, can I get this product delivered to the UK?

We purchased this product today in hopes of getting rid of the bees on our back porch. We waited until the prime time to spray and at first thought it was working but all the bees sprayed just got back up and flew off. This product not only did not work but made the bees soooo mad we can’t even think about going out back. We used the ant killer before and it worked great, we have two dogs so we are careful what we use.
So now headed to store to buy raid and get these bees gone! Too much risk when we are both allergic and they want inside!
Don’t waste money on this product…..
