Bed bugs can come from a variety of places. Here’s a list of possible infestation sources.
Neighboring apartments: If apartments in your building have bed bug issues, it is not hard for these pests to crawl in spaces between walls to your unit. If you believe the bugs are coming from your neighbors, time to head next door and offer some neighborly pest control advice.
Hotels: If you traveled recently, especially internationally, bed bugs could have possibly followed you home. These pests can crawl into luggage to then be unleashed in your home.

Used furniture or clothing: Bed bugs don’t just exist in beds. They will live anywhere people sleep or the clothes they sleep in. Bought any used furniture or clothing lately? Time to use a natural bed bug spray to be sure you’re safe.
Job that puts you in other peoples’ homes: If you are plumber, electrician, repairman etc., you are frequently in others’ homes. It’s possible to pick up bed bugs from a client’s infested home and bring them back to your clean bedroom.
House guests or students on breaks: Overnight guests are a potential bed bug source. Also, students living in dorms are very likely to bring home pests with them. This does not mean you should lock to doors at Christmas, but maybe send them back with a natural bug killer to get rid of pests in their dorms.
Wild animals: If a bird or bat ever flew into your home, they could may brought bed bugs with them. Although this is a pretty rare.

I think I have bed bugs, I moved into a furnished room 3 weeks ago and this morning noticed some bugs crawling around my bed making a beeline to me. It was around 3am and I noticed them crawling around until a little after 6:30am when I left for work.
They are these small little dark oval flat shaped bugs. I saw about 6 (killed 4), they crawl everywhere even tried to go onto the ceiling but fell. They’re also really really quick. They look exactly like bed bug pictures I’ve found on the net except for one small detail. They are really really dark, like dark brown or black.
It’s an old house and there’s spiders, sometimes ants, sometimes misquotes & flies {but I got ride up them by adding citronella to wall fragrance unit).

Natasha, bedbugs appear more dark brown or black to the naked eye. The close-up photos add extra light, so they appear as being a lighter color in photos.
