Pepper spray can act as a very powerful chemical free bug repellent. You might be thinking you’re using conventional pepper spray that people use, but to the contrary it’s just a play on the name. First, start by boiling 2 or 3 cups of water. Once the water is boiling, add 2/3 cup of hot peppers.
Let this mixture sit for a couple minutes, letting the water cool as you let the peppers sink in. After letting it sit, sift the mixture through a sieve to help remove the larger pepper pieces. Place this mixture in a liquid spray bottle and use when needed. Be careful not to spray it onto yourself or others because it will burn if it comes into contact with your skin or your eyes.

By cleaning your home indoors and outdoors often; you will help repel many of the insects away from you and your family. Cleaning is one of the easiest forms of natural insect pest control, all you need to do is clean your kitchen floors, counters, and sinks ensuring there is no food particles left behind. This will reduce the allure of your home to many insects, especially cockroaches and ants.
By simply purchasing lavender extract in cream or other forms, you can rub it onto your skin to help repel most species of mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are appalled by the scent and taste of lavender. If you spread lavender behind your ears, around your neck, and on your arms and legs, you will successfully reduce your allure to a blood sucking mosquito.
An all natural bug repellent aimed to target ants, this minty soap remedy works wonders. Begin by mixing together 2 tablespoons of any type of mint soap. Mix this mixture together thoroughly and then add it to a gallon of water.
Once the mixture is thoroughly blended together, place it into a regular spray bottle. Spray this mixture at the entry points throughout your home and property, where ants and other insects could possibly be entering. The smell will work to repel them after sprayed at these locations.

I am definitely going to plant some lavender in our garden, as we have a problem with mosquitos. I am also going to track down your organic insect repellent, as we often take trips into the Florida Everglades.

I never realized lavender could be used as a mosquito repellent. Because of the threat of West Nile in our area, we really need to use some sort of protection.
